Recital Pictures
January 8, 2025
Happy New Year. Over the break there has been a great opportunity to reflect back on the Christmas Recital that was put on in the Newgrange Hotel on the 12th of December. From a directors point of view, I couldn’t have asked for anything else on the night, all 31 of the gentlemen on stage were absolutely phenomenal. They created such a warm, welcoming and festive environment with their performances that got everyone ready for the Christmas break
It truly was a fantastic reflection not only on their extraordinary talent but their dedication after 4 months of lunchtime and weekend rehearsals, the commitment they showed to me, and their musical abilities was reflected in the show stopping performance. From full choir pieces to solo and small group performances, with a dramatic reenactment of the Christmas Truce of 1914, all the performances were nothing short of spectacular.
Our trad group made a special feature with a 25 minute set, tunes such as Boys of Bluehill, John Ryan’s polka alongside Sweet sixteen highlighted the immense talent of the year group .
My hope for an event like this was that the gentlemen on stage would be able to take something from this and have it as a fond memory of their time in St Pats and I believe that was achieved
Thank you so much for the support from the parents, parents council, staff and student from St Pats. So many people behind the scenes helped me put on an amazing show and to them I owe a lot of gratitude
Best wishes to all in the New Year of 2025
