St. Pat’s U16 and U19 Basketball teams have started their seasons on a high with both teams getting the upper-hand over their opponents in the opening games of the season
Having been off the court since the early part of 2020 both players and coaches were looking forward to getting back into training and competitions.
Having overcome Granard last week by a 33 point margin the U19 team once again came out on top of this week’s fixture against Virgina College. The team finished the day with 53 points to Virginia’s 30.
Our U16 Team (pictured) played their first game this week and also proved too strong for Virginia College with a score of 30 points to 22. This was a fantastic achievement for the teams who have not been able to play basketball since they were in 1st Year. The students have worked incredibly hard since restrictions were lifted and all their hard work and diligence was rewarded on the court today.
The coaches Mr. Bellew and Ms. O Sullivan would like to congratulate all students who made their debut for the school’s basketball teams at both U19 and U16 as they look forward to next week’s games against The Marist, Dundalk.
