Well done to both our U16 and U19 basketball teams who overcame St. Peter’s, Dunboyne in two highly entertaining games this morning.
U16s took to the court this morning and led the game from the start. Having been recently promoted to ‘A’ Schools Basketball our U16 team have shown they are capable of taking on some of the best teams in the region and are beginning to see the rewards of their diligence and perseverance both on and off the court.
They finished their game on a winning scoreline of 65-14 and were led by their hardworking captain, Kyran Woods.
Our u19 team also played a highly entertaining game against Dunboyne and fought hard to the end. They walked off court to with a 5 point win over their rivals on a scoreline of 33-28. Many of these players are in TY and 5th year and we look forward to seeing more successes for them in the future.
Mr. Bellew, Ms. O’Sullivan and Ms. Kiernan would like to take this opportunity to highlight three of our 6th Year players who have played their last game for St. Pat’s C.S. today – Our captain Conor Ward and his teammates Thomas Cully and Matthew ‘Mote. These young men have set a fantastic example for our younger players and have always been a positive and encouraging influence both on and off the court. They have been a pleasure to coach and we know that the positive traits they show on the basketball court will serve them well in life outside St. Pat’s C.S.
