Annual Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) Week.

March 23, 2026

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Today marks the beginning of our annual Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) Week.

Our theme ‘Stigma’ was chosen directly by your Student Council. They have identified that the greatest barrier to a true sense of belonging is the labels we place on one another.

There are lots of informative, educational and fun activities over the week planned.

Our SPHE or non-Exam Religion teachers will share the compelling story of The Green Book for students.

In addition to our focus on social inclusion, this week coincides with Internet Safety Week. Our digital lives are often where stigma and harm can spread most rapidly.

To address this:

·  Our Senior Students will engage with presentations on Coco’s Law, learning about the serious legal and moral responsibilities we have regarding consent and harmful communications.

·  Our Junior Students will explore the world of AI, learning how to be “AI Aware”—understanding how technology can be used to create misinformation or “deep fakes” that target and marginalise others.

Each morning during Tutor Time, there will be short, high-impact presentations covering topics from Neurodiversity to LGBTIQ+ rights and Men’s Mental Health. We are also privileged to welcome a range of guest speakers and host interactive activities tailored for almost every year group throughout the week.

Stigma says, “You are different, so you don’t belong.” Our Catholic ethos and our school spirit say, “You are unique, and that is why you are valued.”

We wish to thank the Student Council and our Wellbeing Coordinator Mr Pat Molony for their leadership in planning this week.

Wednesday will be a non-uniform day. Please show your support for Down Syndrome Ireland and the Elephant in the room by donating € 2.00 via the app towards this important charity

Payment details will be shared via the app this week. There are prizes for the most interesting and unique jerseys.

Kind regards

School Management
