Students in TY with their teacher Mr. Reynolds are involved in a YSI project and one topic they are addressing is climate change. They addressed the issue using an elementary yet impactful solution: planting trees.
Their project doubled as an homage to Mr O’Rourke whose departure was imminent. In accordance with that aspect, the group planted 15 trees on the school grounds, one for every year of his time as principal in St Pat’s. This offers a nice symbolic gesture and really captures Mr O’Rourke’s dedication and passion for serving the school and students and resembles the permanent legacy that will be left behind him.
Colm’s O’Rourke is pictured here with James Connell who organised buying, digging holes & planting the tree for this event, well done James!
