Our First Year Basketball Team had their first outing to the National Basketball Arena today where they faced Castleknock CS in their All-Ireland Quarter Final. The St. Pat’s team secured their place in the semi-final after maintaining their lead throughout all four quarters. The team faced CastleIsland CS in the All-Ireland Semi-Final. St. Pat’s got off to a fantastic start but were unfortunately to come runners-up after an entertaining and energetic game.
We would like to congratulate the First Year Basketball Panel on their many successes this season. The team were unbeaten in all games to date and are both regional champions and All-Ireland Semi-Finalists. This is a fantastic achievement for the panel in their first year of playing basketball for the school and their hard-work, diligence and positive attitude is reflected in the successes mentioned above.
A special mention to coaches Mr Darren Bellew and Ms. Sinead O’Sullivan. A huge amount of preparation and time goes on behind the scenes during lunchtimes and after school. Well done to Mr Bellew and Ms O Sullivan on the teams great performance today .
We look forward to many years of success and silverware as these players start out on their basketball careers with the school. Well done !
