Saint Patricks Classical School Golf Classic 2025- Pics

The annual St Patrick’s Classical School Golf Classic took place in the beautiful surroundings of Royal Tara Golf Club on Friday, May 16th. With perfect weather setting the tone for the day, 34 teams participated in what was a fantastic celebration of sport, community, and school spirit.
This year’s event was played in a scramble format, welcoming both experienced golfers and social players alike. The course was dotted with fun challenges including “Longest Drive,” “Closest to the Pin,” and the ever-popular “Beat the Student Hole” on Hole 4.
A highlight of the day was the strong presence of both past and present students, with three student-only teams participating. One of these teams clinched first prize in the classic — a fourball for Jameson Golf Links Portmarnock, generously sponsored by Jameson Golf Links Portmarnock.
The Golf Classic is a true reflection of the strong ties between St Pat’s and the wider Navan community. Businesses from Navan and surrounding towns and villages showed incredible support by sponsoring holes, providing team prizes, and contributing to a fantastic raffle held that evening in the clubhouse.
This year’s event was a tremendous success, raising €17,000 — all of which will go directly towards enhancing student facilities at St Pat’s. Recent initiatives funded by the Golf Classic include upgraded ICT infrastructure, new classroom equipment, the resurfacing of the all-weather pitch, and support for events like the annual Student Sports Day, which took place earlier that same week.
At the post-event presentation, Mr. McGarry extended heartfelt thanks to all sponsors, participants, and Royal Tara Golf Club. He emphasized the importance of community support and acknowledged the impact these funds will have on the student experience.
The success of the day would not have been possible without the meticulous planning of Mr. Ciaran Murphy and the tireless efforts of our dedicated Parents’ Council. Their work in organizing the event, coordinating with local businesses, and ensuring the smooth running of the day was invaluable and greatly appreciated.
A sincere thank you to everyone — sponsors, players, and Royal Tara Golf Club — for making the 2025 Golf Classic a resounding success.
And finally, mark your calendars…SAVE THE DATE: May 15th, 2026 — St Pat’s Golf Classic 2026!
