Super St.Pat’s 2024- Pics

“Super Pat 2024 was back with a bang as a baker’s dozen of 6th Year students did battle over multiple-disciplines to become Super Pat 2024 and be crowned best all-round sportsperson.

Spread over two days, the disciplines this year included from GAA, basketball and soccer shots; long puck; chin-ups; catch; sprint; long puck; and a good old fashioned car-pull.

It was a lively contest with the likes of Scott Corrigan, Ciaran Scott, Daniel Gavigan, Matthew Kealy, Fionan O’Connor and Billy Smyth all excelling in in specific events, winning or coming 2nd in sports they play or that are close to their own.

Generally the winner is someone who does well across all events, building up the points as they go. However this year, Luke Kealy was able to rely on top performances in basketball shots, sprints, and press-ups as well as that little bit of quick-reaction and luck in the contestant-favourite ‘catch’ to emerge ahead going into the last event, car pull. This event, taking place at the start of Sports Day, always draws a crowd of young viewers who might replicate the fetes of the older peers in years to come.

Despite a little rain half-way through the event making it harder for the last contestants, Luke could not be reined in and came out a worthy winner with Conor Donoghue 2nd, Fionan O’Connor 3rd, Tadgh Murray 4th and Billy Smyth 5th.”
