Well done to all 32 students who took part in the 1st Year Maths Competition earlier this term. It is wonderful to see so many students taking the opportunity to engage in maths and develop their problem solving skills outside the classroom. Special congratulations to James Miller and Cormac Mc Cann who scored an exceptional 90% and were among the top 87 students out of over 14,000 who took part in the competition across Ireland. In recognition of their outstanding performance, Mr McGarry presented them with medals from the Irish Maths Teachers’ Association.
A special thank you to Ms Tobin who helped prepare the students for the competition and accompanied them to the competitions.
Mr McGarry also presented the Pi Maths trophy to 3rd year students Éanna Woods, Conor Gough, Cillian Harton and Matthew Casey who came 2nd place at the Regional Pi Maths Competition in Drogheda on Thursday. The beautiful Pi trophy will be displayed in our school.
