Wednesday the 16th of March marked National Flag Day. Here in St Patrick’s Classical School we celebrated the day with a number of events. There was a display on show in the display cabinet with facts about our flag. First year student Shane Tormey told us about the history of our flag with an announcement over the intercom.
On a glorious sunny morning we had a flag raising ceremony where fifth year student Luke Griffin told us of the importance of the flag and of some of the momentous events where our flag was raised. As first year student Nathan Reilly raised the flag our trad group of Alex Sheridan, Cathel Reilly, Sean Reilly and Oscar Seery played the national anthem. The boys also played further music to mark the celebrations.
