Congratulations to our Athletics Team who competed in the North Leinster Cross Country last friday in the Phoenix Park. The day started with the minor boys running a distance of 1.8km, team members included Martin Keane, Tadgh Caffrey, Jack Fitzgerald, Tom Logan and Ben Sharkey.
Junior boys ran a distance of 2.5km with individual runs by Oran Meade, Colin Duffy,Jake Ryan and Eoin Rodgers. Joey Hegarty was our first man home in 5th place, earning a spot in the Leinster Finals.
Our Intermediate boys had a good start with Joseph Mullen claiming 7th position and into the finals. Good performances by Sean McGuinness, Dean Ryan, Cillian Fox, Cillian Owens,Tim Cronin, Nathan Ryan and Peter Price were seen on the day.
Senior boys finished off the day in style, running a distance of 5km with some impressive times. The boys ran tirelessly against 140 competitors with Thomas Cully finishing 12th, shortly followed by Adam Gilsenan in 14th position. Success didn’t end there with Cillian Moss and Kian McGee contributing to the senior team finishing in second place and claiming silver. This has seen the boys qualify as a team for the Leinster Finals in Santry on the 16th of February. Well done to Francesco Kearney, Josh Faherty, Jake Briscoe and Jake Casserly who were also highly competitive on the day.
