On Friday May 20th the school welcomed past pupil Officer Cadet Philip Hyland back to the school to give a talk on his experience as a young officer in the Irish Navy. Philip explained all about the training involved including the minimum fitness requirements for the navy. Philip is a qualified marksman on two weapons used by the Navy, he is also a fully qualified firefighter .Philip showed pictures of all the recently acquired vessels in use by the navy and explained their role and capabilities . There was a lively question and answer session at the end of the talk.
