Mr. O’Reilly’s 1K Religion class spent an enjoyable morning in Brú na Bóinne on Tuesday learning about our local megalithic passage tomb at Newgrange. The students spent time in the visitor centre before heading across the Boyne to visit the tomb itself. Each student got a chance to enter the passage tomb where their guide explained to the group the historical and cultural significance of the structure before they got to experience a simulation of the light entering the tomb on the morning of the Winter Solstice. Thank you to Mr. Cathal O’Reilly and Mr Darren Bellew for organising the tour.
