The School Golf classic took place on Friday 17th May in Royal Tara. We were blessed with good golf and even better weather for the 32 teams who played on the day. This was combined with 65 Hole Sponsors, a figure that according to Royal Tara, made it one of the best supported classics of recent times.
Winners on the day were Keating’s Oil, who tied with “Flow State” (a team of our own students Lorcan McDermott, Hugh Clarke Carolan, Sean McLoughlin and Eanna Holland) but won on countback. The winners claimed brand new Ping Golf Bags, while the runners up will enjoy a fourball in Mt Juliet. Third prize went to “Farney Royals (David Donnellan, Ciaran Arshad, Cormac Madden and Gavin Doherty) who won a Fourball for Killeen Castle.
Here is a Link to some photos for the day, along with a List of all teams, hole sponsors and prize donators, all of whom combined to make the day a huge sucess. A massive thanks to all in Royal Tara and the Parents Council who were instrumental in the success on the day. Finally, the day was a fitting tribute to our former colleague Michael Cullen, whose son Gary hit the first shot of the day!
